Learn how to identify different species of plants and animals in their natural habitat and how to record your findings. This hands-on event will provide you with valuable skills for exploring nature and the great outdoors. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to connect with nature!

Antoine, the Galloway & Southern Ayrshire Biosphere's Nature Recovery Officer, will explain how to use a guide to identify a plant, a tree or a bird, as well as how to use iNaturalist and Merlin Bird ID apps to identify and record species. This will include taking adequate photographs in order to get the best results from the apps.

What to bring:

  • Any identification guide you would like to learn to use.

  • Your phone with iNaturalist and Merlin Bird ID apps downloaded. Please also create accounts for these apps.

  • Clothes suited to the weather forecast.
