    High Focus Habitats of the Biosphere

    The Biosphere has identified species and habitats which are of high focus. Find out those that are specific to the Glentrool area. With Antoine Le Maire, Land Use & Biodiversity Officer.

    Rocket Lab

    FREE

    We will start with simple air powered straw rockets, then use chemical reactions to produce popping rockets and last but definitely not least finish with high flying lemonade bottle rockets. Create and launch your own rockets, fun for all the family.

    Wild Flower Seed Sowing Workshop

    At this workshop we shall be sowing four different flowers, all of which are native British wildflowers and can be found growing in the Galloway Forest Park.

    Join Dark Sky Freelance Ranger Elizabeth Tindal on a fascinating exploration into the Galloway Dark Skies!

    Join Christy as she guides you through the trees, discover the material uses, medical uses and folklore of the Galloway Forest.

    Hunting in the Forest

    Lead by Elizabeth Tindal, Freelance Ranger. You don't need to be an experienced hunter to take part. You can come along and see if you can find all the different things hiding in the Forest around Glentrool.

    Dragons & Damsels

    Learn about the differences between dragonflies and damselflies, their fascinating lifecycles and some common local species. Faith Hillier, Community Officer.

  • Glentrool Cycleworks

    Glentrool Cycleworks is a new business located within Glentrool Village and offers over 20 years experience in bike repair. Jay will be on hand to offer repair services and some bikes for hire also.

  • Galloway Hillbillies Bike Club

    Scottish Cycling affiliated Galloway Hillbillies Bike Club, based at Kirroughtree trail centre, is an inclusive bike club run by local volunteers with a vision to introduce, encourage and support as many people of all ages and abilities onto bikes and into the outdoors while improving on their physical fitness and looking after their mental health. They will be joining us, running a children’s agility course and offering tuition.

  • Five Kingdoms Brewery

    From the most southernly Scottish brewery, real ale will be available throughout the weekend from Five Kingdoms.

  • Biosphere Bikes

    Biosphere Bikes came about through a love of cycling and a desire to encourage people into a healthier lifestyle using cycling as a means to do that. Anne will be joining us this year again, offering her incredible support with the use of the Biosphere E-Bikes for the day.

  • Apple Day

    Bring along your garden apples for crushing! Apple pressing for juice & cider, sharing recipes, growing methods & produce, identifying varieties. Remember to bring your bottles!

  • Plant Swap

    Bring your seedlings and plants, seeds, bulbs, tubers, plant pots and seed trays to swap. Bring books, baked goods, homemade jams and chutneys, fruit and vegetables. Please remember, no money is involved in our swaps.

  • Kids Craft Tent

    Open each day throughout the festival is our crafty kids tent! Make your very own dragon or fairy wings, wind socks, bat dreamcatchers, pom pom birdies or fuzzy bees!

  • Glentrool Gallery & Craft Shop

    Our Gallery & Craft Shop will be open throughout the weekend of our festival. All our stock is sourced locally within Dumfries & Galloway, with almost 40% being produced by the very talented and skilful residents of Glentrool Village itself.
