As a small scale flower farmer/florist, I grow hundreds of flowers from seed every year for my small business, Flowers of the Forest. I find that sowing seeds and watching them germinate and grow into healthy plants is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding tasks in the garden.
I have many wild flowers growing in the less intensively cultivated areas of my garden and these often find their way into my arrangements.
At this workshop we shall be sowing four different flowers, all of which are native British wildflowers and can be found growing in the Galloway Forest Park. All of them make delightful garden plants and are excellent for cutting. They are also much loved by bees and other pollinators. September is the perfect time to sow these seeds and you should have flowers next year blooming from May right up until the first frosts.
Everything you need to start off your seeds will be provided including the seeds, seed compost, trays and labels.
